Praying always without Ceasing
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
Philippians 4:6
Remember that prayer is a powerful tool that allows us to communicate with God and seek His guidance, comfort, and strength. As we pray, we can trust that God is listening and will respond according to His perfect will.
1. Prayer connects us to God and strengthens our relationship with Him. “The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.” (Psalm 145:18)
2. Prayer gives us peace and comfort in times of trouble. “Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.” (Psalm 55:22)
3. Prayer helps us to discern God’s will for our lives. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)
4. Prayer gives us strength to face challenges and overcome obstacles. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13)
Prayer of Saint Francis
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace:
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.
O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console,
to be understood as to understand,
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
