Children of the Corn: A 4-Week Eastertide Devotional

By Angie Snow Ministries
Theme: Redeemed • Rooted • Rejoicing • Released

Week 1: The Seed That Was Sown – Redeemed People (Ownership)

Connects to Blog 1: Redeemed & Owned

 Bible Verses:

  • 1 Peter 1:18–19 (NKJV) – “…with the precious blood of Christ…”
  • 1 Peter 1:18–19 (ESV) – “…with the precious blood of Christ…”
  • John 12:24 (NKJV/ESV) – The grain of wheat must die

Devotional Thought

Before there could be a harvest, there had to be a seed. Jesus became that seed—falling into the ground through sacrifice so that redemption could reach the entire world.

Across every culture, every nation, every background—the same truth stands:
We are redeemed not by status, race, or history—but by the blood of Jesus Christ.

From villages in Somalia to cities in Mississippi, redemption speaks one language:
grace.

You are not your past.
You are not what was lost.
You are what has been redeemed.

 Reflection

  • Where do you still live as if you are not fully redeemed?

 Prayer

Lord Jesus, Redeemer of the world,
Remind me that I am purchased and restored.
Help me walk in the secure knowledge of belonging to You.
Amen.

Week 2: Growing in the Field – Children of God (Relationship)

Connects to Blog 2: A Living Relationship

 Bible Verses:

  • 1 John 3:1 (NKJV/ESV) – “We are called children of God.”
  • Romans 8:16 (NKJV/ESV) – The Spirit bears witness

 Devotional Thought

The seed did not just produce a harvest—it produced a family.

We are not scattered grains—we are connected by the same Spirit.
Different languages, different cultures, different life stories—
One Father.

This is the beauty of the gospel:
It crosses borders without losing truth.
It enters cultures without losing power.

In Christ:

  • We are known
  • We are loved
  • We belong

Reflection

  • Do you relate to God as distant—or as Father?

 Prayer

Father, in the Name of Jesus
Thank You for adopting me into Your family.
Help me to share Your love across every boundary.
Amen.

Week 3: The Harvest Has Come – A Reason to Rejoice (Celebration & Freedom)

Connects to Blog 3: Rejoice & Live Free

 Bible Verses

  • Romans 5:1 (NKJV/ESV) – Justified by faith
  • Galatians 5:1 (NKJV) – Stand fast in liberty
  • 1 Thessalonians 5:16 (ESV) – Rejoice always

 Devotional Thought

The resurrection is not quiet; it is celebratory.

The field is alive. The harvest is visible.
And we are called to live like it.

Because of Jesus:

  • We live free
  • We love freely
  • We give freely

This freedom is not limited by geography or culture.
It reaches the disinherited, the overlooked, the forgotten—
and calls them family.

  • Grace meets us.
    Mercy restores us.
    Peace sustains us.

 Reflection

  • Are you living as if the harvest has already come?

 Prayer

Dear Lord,
Let joy rise in me because You live.
Teach me to live free, love free, and give freely.
In the Name of Jesus. Amen.

Week 4: The Harvest Empowered – Preparing for Pentecost (Release & Power)

Introduction to Pentecost

 Bible Verses

  • Acts 1:8 (NKJV/ESV) – “You shall receive power…”
  • Acts 2:1–4 (NKJV/ESV) – The coming of the Holy Spirit
  • Joel 2:28 (NKJV/ESV) – “I will pour out My Spirit…”

 Devotional Thought

The harvest does not end with growth—it leads to release.

Pentecost is the moment when the field becomes a force.

The same Spirit that raised Jesus now empowers His people
not for one culture, not for one nation, but for all peoples.

Until every language has heard the good news, every nation has been reached, and every life invited.

This is the fullness of the gospel:

  • Redemption (the seed)
  • Relationship (the family)
  • Rejoicing (the harvest)
  • Release (the Spirit)

Peace becomes our witness.
Grace becomes our message.
Mercy becomes our movement.

Reflection

  • Where is God calling you to go, speak, or serve as part of His harvest?

Prayer

Holy Spirit,
Fill me and send me.
Let my life carry the peace, grace, and mercy of Christ to the world.
In Jesus Name, Amen.

Final Closing

We are children of the corn.
Planted by the Father.
Redeemed by the Son.
Empowered by the Spirit.

Across every culture, every color, every nation—
This is the Good News.

 And remember:
Today is not the end of your story.
