She’s a True Friend, and I Don’t Have Many…

I can’t really talk about how the church has helped me without talking about the Pastor.
When I first met Pastor Snow, I asked her if she could be my mentor and her response was, “I have to pray about it.” What she didn’t know is that I had already prayed. To make a long story short, she became my mentor. And, starting with the basics, she opened the Bible to me. And from there a friendship and more began.
Pastor Snow has been a mother, friend, Pastor, and sister to me. In my time of need, I know I can reach out to her and she’ll be their too do whatever is needed. Sometimes I may not want to hear what she has to say, mostly because it’s the truth. And, let’s face it, who wants to hear the truth all the time? However, I know she has my best interest at heart so, I learned to suck it up with great respect.
I will share this part of my story; I stepped out of the hand of God, leaving grace for disgrace. As You may have guessed, it was a man. I plead temporary insanity, believing that a man who would mistreat his own flesh and blood was my destiny. I called and talked to Pastor about the situation. She listened, reminded me of biblical truths and we prayed. But I kept seeing him, I was enjoying myself.
Then, I found out this guy had two kids that he was mistreating. And I still did not immediately end the relationship. Knowing, this relationship was unhealthy for everyone involved, we continued the insanity. But God intervened, and prayer prevailed where foolishness was present. Through it all, crazy as it was his daughter and I connected. We begin to spend a lot of time together. Ultimately, I spent more time with her than with him, which he later stopped. I began to pray for this child and bless God, she and her brother are no longer in the home with him. This story ends on a positive note, but there are many such situations that end tragically.
There are a lot of good things I could say about this ministry and the Pastor. I have many unforgettable experiences, shared a lot of laughs and tears. And, through it all we have grown together.
God sent her to me not only to be my mentor but my godmother. Not replacing my mother but helping me along the way as I walk with the Lord. Teaching me the Word of God and how to be a lady. My Pastor instructs me in the way the Lord would have me to go. She’s a true friend, and I don’t have many.
A woman like me appreciates all the church has been to me and all that the Lord would have it to be.
Ought not this woman be blessed?

Bible Verse of the Day

Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, But to Your name give glory, Because of Your mercy, Because of Your truth.

It was necessary for God to untie us from our past lemons. He has made us to be lemonade to our families, our church and our communities. As Lemons, we are made sweet by the Holy Spirit. And we have this character – the wind blows and we do not know where it comes from neither do men know where the lemon originates. -- Pastor Angie Snow
